The Synergy Awards has undergone significant growth and transformation since its inception in 2020 at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic in Abeokuta. Initially, the awards focused on recognizing talented students within the institution, with the first two editions in 2020 and 2021 honoring outstanding individuals from the same polytechnic.

A major milestone was reached in 2022 with the "Elevation Edition," which expanded the awards to include students from all institutions in Ogun State. This strategic move allowed the Synergy Awards to capture a broader talent pool and establish itself as a prominent event in the region.
